Austin is famous for food carts and food trailers. They're slightly different from L.A.'s food trucks, but the concept is the same -- mobile goodies for a decent price.
We got into town late Friday night and walked down the street to The Best Wurst, which is situated quasi-permanently at San Jacinto and the infamous 6th Street.
Mr. Monkey got a smoked jalapeno with everything except onions (large photo), and I got a smoked pork Italian with everything (small photo). Each cost $4.50. They were the best midnight snacks for a couple of hungry tourists. Spicy. Juicy. Satisfying.
6th Street is a madhouse. It reminded me of Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
oooohhhh it sounds and looks yum. love your night shots!ReplyDelete
OMG, yes please!!ReplyDelete
We were supposed to go to Austin for the UCLA/Texas game, but had to cancel because of rescheduling our HI trip. Looks like we missed out.
Yum. I've been thinking about hot dogs all day for some reason. lolReplyDelete
I think one of the reasons I love you is your love for wurst!ReplyDelete
Ooh that's one fat wurst! Makes the LA ones look so skimpyReplyDelete
Hot dogs are my weakness.ReplyDelete
OMG now I want one. Yum.ReplyDelete
