Sucker for Stats

What blogger doesn't love stats on her own blog? Tracking minutes spent reading, comments posted, reader locations, and IP addresses is a blast!

Ok, so maybe I need to get out more.

But this amuses me.
demographics
Relative to the general Internet population, 25-34 year-olds, college-educated people, and childfree people are "greatly overrepresented" in my readership, while males and people who browse at home are "greatly underrepresented."

Who reads your blog? Or, if you don't have a blog, do you fit any of these categories as one of my readers?

  1. Tracking stats is awesome. I especially love seeing what people are Googling to land on my site. I interviewed comedienne Rachel Reenstra for her candidacy in the Murphy Goode winery contest, and now I get a lot of hits from people searching "Rachel Reenstra boobs." No joke. Sorry to disappoint, folks!

But my stat tracker doesn't cover demographics -- which app/plugin are you using?

  2. Can you find all of this out through google analytics or are you using another program? Someone is going to have to educate me on finding IP addresses! (Wish we could do that on TN!) :) LOL.
I fit your demo except I have 2 babies :)

  3. Oooh, my stats are not this fancy.

But except for my age (I'm only 24), I am basically your average reader.

  5. I wonder how your stat counter takes into account google reader - I know that seems to throw off a lot of them.

  6. I think I need to upgrade my stat tracker! But that is cool, if not completely predictable. ;o)

I'm in college now, 22, female, and no children (thank freaking god).

40 years from now, I shall still be child-free...

  14. Shooot. I don't think wordpress provides this entertaining information. I wish I could just snap my fingers and switch to blogger.

  15. Haha, sweet, where did you get the stats from?
I don't think my Analytics does it, but maybe I just haven't looked enough. I only get off seeing keyword searches like "macin your own house"

  19. No one reads my blog anymore. That is my fault though. Has nothing to do with education levels or what's packed in their bathing suit area.
