A Royal Waste of Time and Money: XIV

********THIS RESTAURANT IS NOW CLOSED.********

You're probably wondering, "If this place is closed, why are you still posting this?"

Because now I get to say that XIV totally sucked with impunity!

Ah, XIV, your beautiful Roman numeral bushes and gorgeous bar couldn't save you. You cared more about the douchebaggy scene than about your food.

No meal should elicit this reaction.

You should be thankful that this place failed, Michael Mina. It wasn't worthy of your empire. Please try harder in L.A. next time. You can (and should) do better.

  3. "roman number bushes" sounds wrong. glad i never went. sam nazarian sold it hard when he spoke at my school (he's on our board or was at the time, apparently).

    xoxo,
    mind in the gutter. always.

  4. Hahaha! Fail!

I was hoping to try this place out before, but maybe it was a blessing in disguise.

  5. XIV will always have a special place in my heart because I met Brody Jenner there ;-)

    RIP, Fourteen.

  6. I went to XIV for dineLA a few years back and wasn't impressed (the exception being dessert) - but chalked it up to the place only half-heartedly participating in Restaurant Week. Was going to try to go back at some point to check out their regular menu but looks like I didn't miss out!

  7. The meal may have sucked, but that first drink pic with all the bokeh is a thing of beauty.

  8. LOL at the thumbs down picture! I ate here once for DineLA and the portions are small. Can't imagine paying full price after looking at the menu ...

  10. hhahahahhahaha Oh My God! We went here for my husband's 40th bday and we all thought the food and the service was horrific. We couldnt believe it esp. at a Michael Mina establishment. The place reminded me like a club in Las Vegas or something. Husband complained big time by writing a letter to the restaurant and we were able to get $250 for use at Bazaar. I say, score! LOL
