Sporty Spice

Mr. Monkey loves ESPN Zone. I don't.

But I love my Mr. Monkey.

Sliders ($10.95). ESPN Zone describes them as "bite-sized hamburger patties topped with cheddar cheese in a cluster of mini-buns, served with sliced tomatoes and pickles."

Accurate description, except we opted for bleu cheese on two sliders and white cheddar on the other two. Somehow, when things are smaller, they taste better.

Cheese fries ($9.95). ESPN Zone describes them as "a platter of fries topped with bacon and a blend of cheddar, pepper jack, and mozzarella cheese, served with ranch dressing."

Another accurate description. And even better than you might think. The cheese is not only on top; there is a second layer in the middle of the pile.

Buffalo chicken sandwich ($14) marinated in ESPN Zone's traditional buffalo sauce and topped with bleu cheese on a toasted bun.

Who knew that ESPN Zone had a "traditional buffalo sauce"? It was spicy and tangy. No different from any other buffalo sauce.

The best part was the side salad -- romaine, bleu cheese, apples, walnuts, raisins, red peppers, and balsamic vinaigrette. At least one part of our meal wasn't previously frozen.

Needless to say, we took a lot home. I always forget that places like this compensate for lack of quality with quantity.

Even better than the side salad, however, was the Toyota giveaway outside.

Two SIGG bottles. Free. I went home happy.

  2. I'm not a fan of ESPN Zone at all. Feel free to ask if you are curious. However I'm glad you had a better experience than I did and I think it's sweet how much you and Mr. Monkey do for each other.

  5. I love cheese fries. A lot. Mmm...
We have a place like that here called 810 Zone. They have tvs at every booth. Their menu is pretty much identical to your post. In theory the mini tvs are cool, until you have to watch sports on them.

  8. My husband loves it there. I’m sure it has nothing to do with a tv in each bathroom stall. :/
