Rollin' With My Homies

********THIS RESTAURANT IS NOW CLOSED.********

Where better to roll with my homies than at Casa?
casa 017
casa 018
The interior of Casa is dark and sexy. Amber, tater, and I sat in the bar area in front of the open kitchen, but the real action is in the pod-like casitas, which can be reserved.

Happy hour is a super delicious steal at Casa. The deals rival and may surpass Chaya's. While prices seem ever-so-slightly higher at Casa, the food is far more filling. You order less, and your tab ends up much lower.

Margarita with agave nectar, fresh lime juice, and Milagro silver tequila ($7).
casa 025
Surprisingly strong for a cheap happy hour drink. Thumbs up.

Totopos con amigos ($4).
casa 026
It's a fancy name for chips and salsa. Ok, three salsas.

Tacos de carne asada ($7).
casa 027
How adorable is this corrugated taco holder?! Adobo-marinated steak, onions, peppers, queso añejo, roasted tomato salsa, and guacamole quelled our after-work hunger.

Masas fritas ($4).
casa 029
Molotes (fried maize pancakes) in French fry form! Fantastic!

Queso flameado ($6).
casa 031
It actually does flame at your table, but I didn't capture it quickly enough. Tequila-flamed queso asadero with roasted peppers and carne asada (or soy chorizo, if you so choose) and flour tortillas are sure to please everyone. We're talking flaming cheese here, people. Cheese. On. Fire. How could you not like that?

Tacos al pastor ($7).
casa 032
This slow spit-roasted pork with a tomatillo-avocado sauce also came with two friends on a corrugated taco holder. I give a slight edge to the al pastor over the carne asada.

Roll with your homies to happy hour at Casa. It will offend me if you don't.

  4. I DO like the cute taco holders. I do not like the fancy name for the simple chips and dips ;-)
