Sing

I wrote a good four paragraphs about tonight's debate, and then I erased it all.

You know my politics. No need to rehash.

My other latest obsession is The Killers' new song "Human." The lyrics are kind of stupid, but I can't stop thinking about (and singing) the song.

While walking from the parking lot to the CIA, I actually sang out loud.

With no iPod.

By myself.

Luckily, no one was nearby.

I used to do this all the time when I walked to work. Now that I drive, I find that my car is my personal karaoke stage every day.

But I do miss walking and singing like a crazy person.

Here's the song I can't get out of my head.

  1. I've done that a few times during the political season. Which is probably why I haven't posted recently.
Just get me through this season without throwing something at someone or my TV.

  2. I think your song would add a nice mix to my political media. Preferably in the form of a video on youtube. Thanks.

  3. Saw the Killers sing "Human" on SNL last weekend. I really like it, too! Unfortunately they aren't touring in flyover country, or I would have bought some tickets.

  4. I sing everyday in my car too! It's great a stress reliever . . . and entertainment for the drivers around me.

  5. That is so weird! I was just falling in love with that song not hours before I read your post!

  6. I love it too! I downloaded it after I saw them on SNL. "Are we human? Or are we dancers?"

  8. definitely dumb lyrics -- I manage just fine to be both a human AND a dancer -- but addictive all the same!!!

I listened with half my attention span to the debate...but prefer just to read the coverage about it in the paper.

  9. I would have liked you to opine the debates in the same manner you break down your TV shows.

Like Gossip Girl. Except with old men in way less interesting outfits.

And 90210 before the sucky-ness overwhelmed you and you stopped watching.

  13. I'm a running karaoke machine. I love singing along while I run - but sometimes it makes the dog crazy.
