Hair Apparent and...More Food

I woke up late this morning and didn't feel like washing my hair. Solution? Headband! Please ignore the flyaways.

I may invest in more of these. They shall become my new fave accessories. I may never wash my hair ever again. All hail the lazy girl's Hair BFF!

Lunch was the highlight of my day (again). I made a new friend who loves going to authentic Asian and Latin restaurants. I've decided she will be my Exotic Lunch BFF. (I'm very excited to have found two BFFs in one day, even if one is inanimate.)

I couldn't help but giggle at the name of the place. This place is...the shit!

But, like another unfortunately named restaurant, it proved to be quite yummers. And, at $6.50 for a full meal of grilled shrimp, spring rolls, and vermicelli, how could you go wrong?

I paired my entree with traditional Vietnamese iced coffee, which is steeped in the contraption on the left on top of condensed milk and then poured on ice. Mmm.

My new Exotic Lunch BFF introduced me not only to My Dung (yes, still giggling), but also to the painstakingly labeled junk food stash at work. Wow.

I hope never to raid this, but at least I now know where to go if I'm absolutely starving.

Even after the junk food revelation, there was still more food to be had. A friendly girl down the hall loves to bake and gave me this neat little box.

Inside were homemade cookies and pretzel treats.

And that was my day. Oh, and I did some work, too. But not much. Heh.

  1. Hmmm...Where to eat? My Dung or Young Dong? What a conundrum! Asian restaurant owners need to befriend native English speakers. Really. No joke. It should be law.

  2. The headband suits you. :)

My co-workers and I often go to a Vietnamese place called A Dong. The food is good, and the name's a laugh riot. Everybody wins!

  5. dude, i am also a huge fan of hair powder to keep hair feeling/looking/smelling clean on days you don't shampoo. bumble and b umble makes the best one, it's tinted and aerosol-y can. cake beauty makes a super good smelling one, but it comes in a regular powder can (thus a little messy). aveda pure something or other is also awesome. i just love telling people about that stuff. it makes my hair day.

  7. The headband is totally cute! That's great that you can rock the headband! I look lame with a headband, so my lazy hair day is pigtails (and then everyone else knows it's my lazy hair day too).

  8. Sigh...the beauty in these Vietnamese names get so lost in the English language. My Vietnamese name shares one of the words with that unfortunate restaurant. My moniker means royal beauty and was named after a famous Chinese fictional character, but it sounds like Chinese cow poop to English speakers.

You should hear all the English names that the Vietnamese elders butcher...David = duck's butt.
